Members of the Bay St. George RCMP were busy this past weekend with two separate residential assaults and a break and enter in Stephenville on the weekend.

It was about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday that police received a report of a disturbance at a residence on Montana Drive. A 29-year-old man from Stephenville Crossing was arrested for assault, mischief and uttering threats.

All parties involved were known to each other and no serious injuries were reported. The man was later released with conditions of an undertaking and a promise to appear in court at a later date.

At about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, the Bay St. George RCMP received a report of assault at a residence on Hillview Avenue. As a result, a 32-year-old man was charged with robbery, assault, failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking.

He appeared in Stephenville Provincial Court on Tuesday and was released on a recognizance. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on June 4.

From the same incident, a 38-year-old man from Stephenville was arrested for assault, breach of court orders and theft. He was seen in court on Monday and was remanded to the Waterford Hospital for assessment. All parties involved were known to each other and no serious injuries were reported.

On Sunday at about 1:30 p.m., Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a break and enter into a residence on Hillview Avenue and as a result a 34-year-old man from Stephenville was arrested for break and enter.

He appeared in court on Monday and remanded to the Waterford Hospital for assessment.
