The City of Corner Brook has agreed to enter into a formal advertising agreement with The Western Star again this year for the annual Achievement in Community Excellence (ACE) Awards program.

The sponsorship, which has been agreed to for the past several years, is valued at $5,000.

The awards program recognizes people, groups, organizations and businesses for their valued contributions to creating and strengthening the quality of life in Corner Brook. They celebrate outstanding contributions to community sustainability through economic, environmental and socio-cultural themes in business, environmental, arts, sports and community categories.

The deadline for ACE Awards nominations is April 19 and the winners will be announced at the civic centre May 8.

Print copies of nomination forms will be available at city hall and the civic centre, as well as online on the city’s and The Western Star’s websites.
