CORNER BROOK, N.L. — A Corner Brook man accused of sexual assault and extortion entered guilty pleas when he appeared in provincial court Tuesday.
Roger Francis, 42, was charged with five offences in October.

Crown attorney Adam Sparkes indicated Tuesday that the remaining three charges, including two counts of making harassing phone calls and one count of criminal harassment, would be withdrawn once convictions are entered on the two offences to which Francis has pleaded guilty.
The offences are alleged to have taken place against a woman between January and October of 2018
Defence lawyer John Noseworthy did not ask for a pre-sentence report to be done and the case was set to hear facts and recommendations for sentencing March 28.
