Corner Brook police charge man on ATV after brief chase

A 27-year-old man from Corner Brook was issued several traffic tickets and charged with fleeing from the police on an all-terrain vehicle in the city late Monday night., July 8.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary say they attempted to stop the man, who was driving without a helmet on a road at around 9:51 p.m.
According to the RNC, the ATV was being operated outside of the city’s designated ATV route.
Police say the man failed to stop immediately, and they followed the ATV for a short period of time before being able to safely get the operator to pull over
In addition to the charge of flight from police, the man was issued four tickets for operating an unregistered ATV with no helmet on a roadway with no valid insurance.
He was released to appear in provincial court at a later date.
