Around 30 young people, mostly from Corner Brook Regional High School, skipped classes Friday to take part in Climate Strike Canada’s event Friday.
The students rallied at high-traffic and government-related locations, including outside of Corner Brook city hall, the Sir Richard Squires provincial building and outside the office of Gudie Hutchings, the Liberal Commons member for Long Range Mountains, in an effort to both draw attention to the issue of climate change and help educate the public about the importance of protecting the environment.
Similar climate strike events involving students took place across Canada Friday.
