A 27-year-old Corner Brook woman charged following a disturbance at a city home on Thursday night will have a bail hearing on Monday.

Samantha Piercey appeared in provincial court on Friday afternoon charged with assault with a weapon or imitation weapon, assault, uttering threats to damage or destroy property and mischief to property, less than $5,000.

Gary Kearney appeared as duty counsel for Piercey and told Judge Wayne Gorman that Trevor Murphy from the Stephenville legal aid office will represent her at the bail hearing.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary reported in its media report Friday morning that officers responded to a disturbance at 9:48 p.m.

The complainant reported that a woman inside the residence had threatened and assaulted him.

Information sworn before the court alleges that Piercey allegedly used a knife in the assault. It also alleges she threatened to destroy the complainant’s vinyl records and that she willfully damaged a vinyl record insert belonging to the man.
