Samantha Piercey is back in custody and facing new charges of assaulting the same man she’s alleged to have assaulted back in January.

The 28-year-old Corner Brook woman was arrested over the weekend and charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. The assault is alleged to have occurred on April 4.

She’s also charged with six counts of breaching an undertaking imposed on her when she was released from custody on Jan. 19.

The breaches allege she contacted or communicated with the man on April 4, 6 and 13 and that she failed to keep the peace and be of good behaviour on those dates.

Piercey is charged with assault with a weapon or imitation, assault, uttering threats to damage or destroy property and mischief to property, less than $5,000 from the January incident.

She appeared in provincial court in Corner Brook for a bail hearing on Wednesday afternoon. The decision on that hearing will be handed down on April 24.
