Corner Brook’s downtown had some real hustle and bustle Wednesday.

In the middle of a week where Corner Brook’s population has swelled with Come Home Year visitors, one of the biggest cruise ships in the world is in town.

The Queen Mary 2 has a capacity for 2,620 passengers and 1,253 crew members. Many of them got of the ship and inundated the downtown core to go shopping and sightseeing.

It was slow-going for vehicular traffic on West Street in particular with tour buses making stops and hundreds flocking to market and entertainment set up in the civic square area in front of city hall.
