The Royal Canadian Mounted Police of Newfoundland and Labrador have a new face handling its media relations.
Cpl. Jolene Garland was announced as the RCMP’s new media relations officer in a news release Thursday morning. She will be the face of its Strategic Communications and Media Relations Unit.
Prior to accepting this position, Garland has 16 years of service in a variety of postings that include Niagara Falls, Deer Lake, Rocky Harbour and most recently, the Ferryland Detachment.
Her roles during those postings have included federal investigator, customs and excise; provincial co-ordinator, drug evaluation and classification program; traffic services investigator and general duty investigator.
Garland started in her new position on June 25, a promotional move from her position as Constable in Ferryland.
