Deputy Mayor Sandra Pinksen puts in her two cents worth at the Deer Lake town council meeting Monday.

Currently located in the Town of Deer Lake’s depot building, the club has been hoping the town would help find a more suitable place for its operations.

There were indications the town was ready to have the club move into an unused bay at the new fire hall, but no official word has been made.

After Monday night’s public council meeting, Mayor Dean Ball confirmed council is ready to grant the club’s wish.

“It’s close enough now to know that it is going to happen,” said Ball. “We’re ready to move on that now.”

An official opening date will be announced at the next public meeting of town council, scheduled for Nov. 7.
