Two vehicles were left inoperable after an alleged hit and run incident in Deer Lake 10 days ago.

According to a press release issued Wednesday by the RCMP, the incident took place Feb. 18 at the intersection of George Aaron Drive and Route 430 at around 5:50 p.m.

Police said a vehicle, believed to be a blue 2002 to 2004 Jeep Liberty was travelling southbound on Route 430 when it failed to execute the turn onto George Aaron Drive.

The Jeep collided with another vehicle which was stopped at the intersection. That struck vehicle was then pushed into a third vehicle which was also stopped at the same intersection.

The driver of the Jeep left the scene without stopping and the two vehicles that had been stopped at the intersection were rendered no longer drivable.

The Deer Lake RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in its investigation of the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 635-5109. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers by calling toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP190 + your message to "CRIMES" (274637), or online at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
