The driver of a transport truck that left the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Corner Brook earlier this week has been charged with driving while being impaired by drug.
The accident, which left the truck flipped on its side and leaking fuel, happened just before noon Tuesday
The driver, 50-year-old Gregory Anderson from Sydney, New Brunswick, was arrested and a drug recognition evaluation was performed on him back at police headquarters. As a result of that evaluation, Anderson was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drug.
He had his licence suspended and his truck was seized.
Anderson was released from custody after being held overnight for an appearance at provincial court in Corner Brook. He was given a return court date of July 30.
