STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — Gemma Hickey read an excerpt from their first book “Almost Feral” during a stop in Stephenville Tuesday.

Hickey is retracing their Hope Walk, a 908-kilometre journey across the island of Newfoundland Hickey started in July 2015 to raise awareness and funds for survivors of religious institutional abuse.

While in Stephenville, Hickey told those in attendance the book is about learning how to love yourself.

Hickey, who had been in Port aux Basques earlier in the day, is donating half the royalties from the book to Pathways.

Hickey had two stops in Corner Brook Wednesday.
