Steady Brook’s Jon Pike is riding a wave of musical momentum that brings him back to western Newfoundland this weekend.

Pike, who now goes by the solo project moniker Brdgs (pronounced Bridges), will be playing a show at Tall Boys Pub and Grill in Corner Brook Friday night.

He was in St. John’s to open for hip hop star Nelly at Mile One Centre Wednesday.

Brdgs has been enjoying success recently with his latest single, “All My Friends,” having peaked at No. 7 on Spotify Canada’s Viral 50 chart. His previous release, “In the Wild,” reached No. 28 on Billboard Canada’s Top 40 late last year.

This will be Pike’s first show in western Newfoundland since those songs hit the charts.

Now living in Toronto, the singer-songwriter and producer won an East Coast Music Award for Fan’s Choice Video of the Year in 2016 with Everglow, a pop duo that also featured fellow Steady Brook native Gordon Huxter, and their song “Feel Your Heart.”

His mix of pop and acoustic styles has garnered Brdgs a bit of attention lately and has led to songwriting collaborations with the likes of Victoria Duffield, Jodi Guthro and Shawn Desman.
