After each of the four charges he’s facing were read out to him in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in Corner Brook on Monday morning, Dylan Joseph Ryan was asked how did he plead?

Each time the 21-year-old Deer Lake man answered with “not guilty.”

The charges include using a firearm in committed a robbery, forcible confinement, disguised with intent to commit an offence and break and enter with intent, and stem from an alleged home invasion in Reidville last fall.

Ryan is the last of the four men charged in relation to the alleged incident, which occurred on Oct. 8, 2017, still before the court.

He is the only one to have entered not guilty pleas. He elected to be tried by judge alone in the Supreme Court in April, prior to being committed to stand trial on the charges following a preliminary inquiry in provincial court in October.

That trial was set for Sept. 17-19, 2019 during Monday’s appearance.

A pretrial conference in the matter has been set for May. 28.

Two of the others charged, Ricky Halfyard and Tanner Healey, were each sentenced to five years in jail during separate appearances in April.

The third man, Jared Healey was sentenced to two years in June.
