Much to the delight of motorists in Corner Brook, the Main Street bridge is set to re-open later this afternoon.
According to a press release issued by the City of Corner Brook this afternoon, the bridge will open to traffic at around 4 p.m.
Downtown traffic has been detoured away from the section of Main Street that crosses Corner Brook Stream since Sept. 4.
Motorists are urged to use caution when driving through the area and to obey all traffic signs as there is still work continuing on the bridge.
An official opening ceremony is being schedule for the spring, after landscaping and some final decorative touches are done to complete the job.
