Man arrested by Bay St. George RCMP for impaired driving in Heatherton

STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — ROBINSONS
A 40-year-old Robinsons man was arrested and charged with impaired driving from an incident in Heatherton this past Friday.
In a prepared release issued Tuesday, the the Bay St. George RCMP said officers who were out on patrol observed a pickup truck pulling out of a commercial business and fish tail while entering onto the main road around 11 p.m.
The officers made a traffic stop and found the driver was suspected of being impaired by alcohol.
The driver was arrested and taken to the detachment in Stephenville where he provided breath samples police said were above the legal limit.
In addition to facing charges of impaired driving, police seized and impounded the vehicle the man was driving, suspended his driver’s licence and released him from custody with a court date of Jan. 13.
