Nain man charged with intimidating court witnesses in bootlegging investigation

Nain, N.L. — A 30-year-old man from Nain was arrested Tuesday and charged for intimidation of court witnesses in an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol.

The RCMP made the arrest as part of their efforts continuing efforts to eliminate the illegal sale of alcohol in Nain.

Jeffery Solomon Millie was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on September 5, 2018.

Nain RCMP is with the community to curb this type of illegal activity.

The penalty for bootlegging liquor under the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Act can be as high as $50,000 or imprisonment for up to two years, or both a fine and imprisonment.

More charges are anticipated as this investigation continues.
