Neila Annett Blanchard sats in provincial court in Corner Brook, awaiting the resumption of the preliminary inquiry into the charge of dangerous driving causing death against her Friday afternoon.

Blanchard, 56, was committed by Judge Catherine Allen-Westby later in the afternoon to stand trial in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador for the charge related to the death of 17-year-old Justin Simon Hynes, who was struck and killed by a vehicle as he walked to school in Cow Head on Sept. 11, 2017.

It is expected that Blanchard will be arraigned in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in Corner Brook in early January.
