Jeff Keshen, vice-president of Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus, is planning to get acquainted with Newfoundland and Labrador in the coming weeks and months.
It will start next week with a tour of Stephenville, Port aux Basques and Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Keshen, who is new to the province and university, is aiming to build relationships that will foster Grenfell’s engagement, research and recruitment priorities, a news release from the university today, Jan. 31, stated.
He will be meeting with community groups, municipal councils and individuals during the tour.
“I am eager to hear the ideas, issues and concerns that people have throughout the western region and into Labrador, and how we at Grenfell Campus might collaborate with them to help develop new initiatives,” said Keshen, who took on the role as Grenfell’s vice-president this past November.
“In addition, this tour will increase awareness of the great things that we are accomplishing at Grenfell Campus, as well as the positive economic impact we are having on our surrounding communities, our region and our province.”
Keshen will also address the Rotary Club of Corner Brook on Feb. 1 and is expected to present at the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade soon.
