ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Three parties have a full list of candidates in place in the seven ridings in Newfoundland and Labrador for the 2019 federal election on Oct. 21, while other parties still have spots to fill.
All seven Liberals incumbents are seeking re-election. The Conservative Party of Canada has a complete list of candidates ready to contend, as does the Green Party of Canada.
The NDP indicated that while it has two candidates in place, other ridings are in the process of nominating candidates.
The People’s Party of Canada also has two candidates, while the Rhinoceros Party has one candidate in place in one riding. The Marijuana Party has one candidate in one riding, according to its website.
All candidates must be in place by 2 p.m. on Sept. 30 for the election — Canada’s 43rd — according to Elections Canada. The official list of candidates will be made known Oct. 2.
As of Saturday, here are the confirmed candidates in this province:
