American Airlines Flight 207 made a safe landing at Stephenville airport this afternoon after the air crew noticed a cracked windshield and declared an emergency.
The Being 777, with a total of 307 people on board including crew, was en route from Milan, Italy to Miami, Florida U.S.A. when the emergency was declared and the decision made to land at Stephenville airport.
With crash services on hand at Stephenville airport and other emergency services on alert, shortly after 2 p.m. the plane landed safely.
Another American Airline plane is expected in at close to 9 p.m. to pick up the passengers and bring them to their destination.
