RCMP looking for public’s help in investigation of apparent targeted home invasion in Mattis Point

Bay St. George, N.L. — The RCMP is investigating a home invasion in Mattis Point that occurred about 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a residential robbery in progress at a residence in the community.

The RCMP along with a K-9 unit and the forensic identification section, responded to find that several thieves forced had their way into the home and used violence to rob the residents.

Both occupants of the house were taken to Sir Thomas Roddick hospital and treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

An undisclosed quantity of cash was stolen and the suspects fled the scene.

The police do not believe that this was a random act of violence. The investigation is continuing.
