The police in Corner Brook are urging residents to remember to always lock their car doors and to never leave valuables in an unattended vehicle.
There has been a rash of vehicle break-ins throughout the city recently, including more reported in the Wheeler’s Road area Monday morning.
In one incident, a fraud investigation has been launched after debit and credit cards contained in a wallet reported stolen from a vehicle on Wheeler’s Road overnight Sunday were allegedly used at a number of businesses after the theft occurred.
On nearby Bugden Place, a wallet with personal identification and debit/credit cards, along with a laptop computer, were reported stolen from a parked vehicle that had been illegally entered overnight.
In a third incident from that sale general area, a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle on Pratt Street sometime Saturday night.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said all of these targeted vehicles had been left unlocked with valuables inside.
