RNC make arrests for multiple commercial break and enters in Corner Brook

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Corner Brook Region has arrested and charged two city residents in relation to multiple commercial break and enters in the Corner Brook area.

On Sunday, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers with Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a break and enter on University Drive. Upon police arrival it was determined that forced entry had occurred. This break and enter is believed to have occurred on Sunday at approximately 7:25 p.m.

On Monday, at approximately 3:28 a.m. while on general patrols in the Broadway area, officers with Operational Patrol Services observed a commercial break and enter in progress. As a result, a 13-year-old male resident of Corner Brook and a 21-year-old female resident of Corner Brook were arrested.

Through further investigation, officers with Operational Patrol Services determined that an additional three commercial break and enters had occurred in the Mount Bernard Avenue area sometime between the evening of Sunday and 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

As a result, the 13-year-old male was charged with four counts of Break and Enter and two counts of Disguise with Intent; and the 21-year-old female was charged with four counts of Break and Enter.

Both the male and female subjects have been released from police custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Services are continuing the investigations into these matters and are asking anyone with information to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
