ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The RNC is investigating an unsuccessful attempt to use heavy equipment to steal a bank machine.
The RNC was called to the Eastern Edge Credit Union on Camrose Drive in Paradise on Monday around 8 a.m. when it was reported someone was trying to use a backhoe to steal the drive-thru automated teller machine.
The driver of the backhoe tried to move away from the window and went over a small embankment, where the machine became stuck in a fence. The attempted robber(s) fled the scene before police arrived.
The investigation is ongoing.
