Beginning this Wednesday, Wednesday Farmers’ Markets at the St. John’s Community Market facility on Freshwater Road will move to new hours – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“We’ve been hearing a lot from our customers about how much they wanted to be able to come down and have lunch at the market,” executive director Pam Anstey said in a news release. “And we know that with the holidays coming, some extra hours to pick up locally made gifts and food won’t go astray. Wednesdays are also a bit quieter, with fewer lineups, and we know that’s something folks are looking for as the season gets busier.”
Alongside the extended hours, the nonprofit St. John’s Farmers’ Market Cooperative (which operates the Community Market) is adding more and community activities to Wednesdays, from a kids play/art area to music classes to holiday ornament workshops.
The St. John’s Farmers’ Market operates Wednesdays 11-7 and Saturdays 9-4 at the St. John’s Community Market facility on Freshwater Road. Vendor lists, parking and transportation info, and more are all posted on the Market’s website, stjohnsfarmersmarket.ca, and you can follow the Market on Twitter (@sjfm), Facebook (@sjfmnl) and Instagram (@sjfmnl)
