The province is at risk of losing one of its strongest LBGTQ+ advocacy groups and organizers of the annual St. John’s Pride parade.

The entirety of the interim board of St. John’s Pride Inc. is set to close out its term this month, but to date, there have been no responses to a call for nominations.

As a result, the board feels its final duty may be dissolving the organization that is responsible for planning and executing the annual pride parade in the capital city.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Nov. 16 with an election to follow at the annual general meeting on Saturday.

The board consists of three co-chairs — internal, external and finance — serving two-year terms and six director-at-large, each serving one-year terms.
