Early discussion around a food festival proposed for the Churchill Park area this summer has led to a review of the festival plans, according to Coun. Ian Froude.
Froude offered a brief mention of the festival, Ribfest, at Monday night’s St. John’s city council meeting, saying the proponent was considering early feedback from residents, after plans for a mid-July festival went public last week.
Froude has received some of the expressions of concern, including around parking, noise levels and litter.
He said the proponent is taking another look at the plans, and may seek approval for the same festival in another location, but nothing is yet decided, or approved by council.
