St. John's, N.L. — Plenty of people in this province will likely be glued to their TVs Tuesday night to watch Jeopardy!
That’s because the popular American quiz show will feature a St. John’s woman as one of the three contestants.
Kirsten Morry will be the first resident of this province to appear on the show, in which the answers are given first by host Alex Trebek and the contestants supply the questions.
Morry, 27, is an associate lawyer to the commission of Inquiry respecting the Muskrat Falls Project.
Called to the Bar this past year, she had worked as an associate lawyer with Benson Buffett law firm.
According to that firm’s website, Morry is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law and holds a dual degree in common law and civil law. At McGill, she was awarded the Barreau du Québec Prix de la justice participative for the highest mark in a course on alternative dispute resolution in the 2015-2016 academic year.
It indicates that in 2015, Morry won the overall national prize, along with the prize designated for a Newfoundland and Labrador student, in an essay contest commemorating the 800th anniversary of The Magna Carta.
Morry served on the St. John’s Transportation Commission and sings in the Philharmonic Choir of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.
