The team at the Stephenville Airport has been busy the past few days offering priority in servicing the logistical needs of the USAF military requirements during global missions.

That’s according to Maurice Hynes, a retired colonel from the Canadian Forces and special projects adviser for the Stephenville Airport.

The Stephenville Airport remains a choice among many squadrons that require refuelling during their transatlantic flight and a number of C-130 Hercules aircraft have been scheduling Stephenville for that purpose.

Hynes said the friendships the airport has fostered with the U.S. Air National Guard is paying dividends, along with the great assets the Stephenville Airport offers, including favourable weather and a versatile runway.

He said it is resulting in bringing repeat customers that plan their technical stops at the Stephenville Airport.

Five scheduled C-130s stopped in Stephenville since Friday and more are expected.
