The Town of Stephenville has found a way to help folks with mobility issues pursue more recreational opportunities.

The town recently purchased a Hippocampe all-terrain wheelchair.

The pedestrian transporter can be used on bike and walking trails and will be available to people who have mobility issues. It can be signed out for use at no charge to the public when its available by contacting the town office in Stephenville.

Plans are to purchase more of these into the future. It’s also equipped with a ski for winter use.
