STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — The Stephenville town council approved 16 items under permits and municipal plan at its regular general meeting on Thursday at noon hour and denied one.
- Busy Bees Preschool – permit to change name/ownership of a daycare business, previously operated as Care-A-Lot Daycare to Busy Bees Preschool at 21 Colonial Avenue.
- Davina Downey – permit to remove part of an existing residence and reconstruct on property at 81 Cold Brook Road.
- College of the North Atlantic – permit to occupy the building at 171 Minnesota Drive to accommodate post-secondary trades programs.
- NL Inc 69385 – denied a permit to subdivide property into four parcels on property located at the dock area as subdividing the land with the intent to sell is not permitted.
- Terrance and Sarah Jesso – permit to construct an addition to the existing building to create a five-plex building on property at 17-23 Georgia Drive.
- Leonard and Patsy Willette – permit to subdivide property at 58 Gallant Street to accommodate two parcels of land and erect a single-family dwelling on the newly created parcel on 60 Gallant Street. These were both discretionary use and were advertised with no comments received.
- Vision Automotive & RV – outline planning permission to change and existing propane tank from horizontal to vertical at 57-61 West Street.
- Vision Automotive & RV – permit to pave the parking lot of the business at 57-61 West Street.
- Wilson Fuel Co. Limited – permit to paint around fuel pump islands and undersides of canopy of the business at 18-20 Main Street.
- Tanika Chaisson – permit to construct a duplex on property at 9 Logan Crescent. Due to a 10 per cent rear yard depth variance, it was advertised in the paper with one objection received.
- Northern Harvest Smolt – permit to install wells and well pads and underground waterlines and construct a new pumphouse on property at Massachusetts Drive.
- Enterprise Rent A Car – permit to relocate existing automobile rental business from 32-24 Prince Rupert Drive to 25-27 Prince Rupert Drive and construct a wall to separate the garage from the rest of the building to provide a separate kiosk/desk area for Enterprise.
- Dave Mooney – outline planning permission to construct a new 52-foot by 60-foot building at 25-27 Prince Rupert Drive to accommodate a restaurant franchise.
- Simon’s Holdings Ltd – permit to occupy space in the property at 205 Carolina Avenue to accommodate warehouse storage.
- Sandra and Vern Lewis – permission to erect 12-foot by 20-foot section of 10-foot privacy fence bordering the back corner of the property at 5 Bayside Drive.
- Leonard Willette – permit to construct a 0.8-meter deep porch on the front of the house at 95 Bruce Boulevard. Due to the zoning being residential medium density and having a 10 per cent building line setback variance, it was advertised in the local paper with no comments received.
- Bike Lanes – the Town of Stephenville designate space for bicyclists adjacent to motor vehicle traffic lanes with flows in the same direction of motor vehicle traffic.
