According to the Corner Brook RCMP, the woman was a passenger in a SUV that struck a transport truck on the Trans-Canada Highway.
The woman died at the scene, police said. The man driving the SUV has been airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s with critical injuries.
The driver of the transport truck was not hurt.
An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene and the police investigation is continuing.
