You could say the Christmas season in Corner Brook officially got underway Friday morning with the opening of the Gingerbread House at the Valley Mall.
This is the 37th year for the project — co-sponsored by the mall, the Salvation Army and VOCM — that accepts donated gifts to be distributed to needy families during the Christmas season.
Last year, around 2,700 gifts were dropped off at the Gingerbread House structure located on the mall’s lower level.
