The Port of Stephenville is currently a busy spot with three vessels undergoing repairs while tied up at the wharf.

Colin Maddock, who was recently hired as the chief development officer at the port, said he’s looking at growth opportunities for the port and local area.

He said this work fits right in with those opportunities with about 25 skilled workers carrying out the repairs, which run from two weeks to six weeks for the different vessels.

Maddock see many opportunities for the area and said whatever is good for the port is also good for the town and vice versa.

Vessels Under Repair:

McKeil Evans Spirit - a 139.95-meter ship (Jan. 23 arrived)

McKeil Lambert Spirit - a 120-meter barge (Feb. 6)

Tim McKeil – a 32.8-meter tug (Feb. 6)
