The driver of this van was happy to be the first to drive across the new Main Street bridge in Corner Brook on Monday afternoon.
The main thoroughfare connecting the west and east sides of the city had been closed since September as work on replacing the old bridge was carried out.
There is still some work to be carried out on the pedestrian walkways on the new bridge and until that is completed only three of the bridge’s four lanes will be open.
After months of traffic having to detour around the city it didn’t take long after the van rolled by for a lot more vehicles to start using the bridge.
