Two people were able to get out safely, but the home they lived in on Walbourne’s Road in Corner Brook was heavily damaged by fire early Sunday morning.
The Corner Brook Fire Department and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were called to the scene at around 2:45 a.m.
The house, located at the top of a steep gravel road, was heavily damaged by smoke and fire.
A family member said there were four cats in the home that were removed safely. Three children also lived in the home but were not home at the time of the fire.
There was no confirmation of the cause of the fire at the time of publication.
