FOXTRAP, N.L. — Fire investigators with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are on the scene of last night's triplex fire in Foxtrap, Conception Bay South trying to determine the cause.

The homes — numbers 4, 6 and 8 on Chateau Ave. — were recently built by Habitat for Humanity NL.

This morning, residents of the units on either side of the burned-out middle unit, both of which suffered damage in the blaze, were on site collecting personal items.

Three families were displaced by fire at a triplex built by Habitat for Humanity in Foxtrap, C.B.S., late Thursday night.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and firefighters were called to the Chateau Avenue home just before midnight to find that the fire had spread quickly from one unit, damaging the others.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

Nobody was injured, but all the families — totally three adults and five children — had to be relocated. The Salvation Army also had volunteers on the scene providing assistance to the families.

While the fire is not thought to be suspicious in nature, an investigation into its cause is underway.
