Wearing poppies proudly

Walking into the Stephenville Plaza parking lot, Patricia and Gary Drake of Stephenville proudly wear their poppies. With Veteran's Week and Remembrance Day nearing, poppies are readily available at many locations throughout western Newfoundland. The Drakes say they cannot forget all veterans and Patricia has a special place in her heart her uncle, Sgt. Arthur O’Quinn, who died in the Second World War. FRANK GALE/THE WESTERN STAR
