CORNER BROOK, N.L. — A six-month project to replace a 14-year-old piece of MRI equipment at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook began last week.
In a media release, Western Health said there will be no disruption in MRI service at the hospital as a temporary portable MRI unit will be in place during the installation process.
To facilitate the replacement, three of the accessible parking spaces at the west side of the hospital, next to the medical imaging department, will be moved to the front of the hospital.
Western Health said the new equipment will be moved to the new acute care hospital when it’s complete.
