STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — A 31-year-old Noel’s Pond woman has been charged with impaired by drug after an incident on the weekend.
It was about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday that Bay St. George RCMP received a report of an unresponsive female slumped over the wheel of her car behind a business in Stephenville.
Officers from Bay St. George RCMP, along with paramedics from Russell’s Ambulance Service, attended the scene.
Police allege a drug influence evaluation determined the female driver, a resident of Noel's Pond, was impaired by drug. She was charged with possession of an opioid and driving while impaired.
The woman’s vehicle was impounded, she had her licence suspended and she has since been released from custody and will appear in court later.
