1. What makes you proud to say you live in Atlantic Canada?
Definitely the community! We are surrounded by such incredible and talented people who devote their lives to helping our community thrive.
2. What inspires your creative process?
I am always heavily inspired by having important conversations to help spark change. I want for others to feel heard and seen and validated through my work: especially those who lack representation.
3. What do you hope your legacy will be?
I hope that my legacy will be my advocacy work.
4. What is the best piece of advice you’ve received so far?
Everyone liking you is simply not possible, so be authentic in who you are and what you believe... At the end of the day, you are the only one who truly needs to like you.
5. Tell us something unexpected about yourself:
I used to be a huge People Pleaser and tried very hard not to rock the boat.
6. What is a common misconception about millennials that you disagree with? Why?
That we are lazy & too sensitive. Millennials are by far the hardest working people I know- often working themselves to the point of burnout. Our “sensitivity” is often what informs our empathy and emotional intelligence, which is an incredible asset for growth and change.
7. What does self-care or wellness mean for you?
It means maintaining a balance between restoring your battery and doing the hard work to ensure that you’re optimizing your battery for future use.
8. What’s one thing that scares you?
Apathy and contempt.
9. What’s your favourite way to support local?
In every way I possibly can! Whether that’s making my purchases through local shops or collaborating with local businesses. But also, being actively engaged and involved with your community is wildly important.
