A driver in a hurry in Happy Valley-Goose Bay has found out the hard way about stiffer penalties that were recently introduced in the province for speeding.

RCMP Labrador Traffic Services pulled over a vehicle travelling more than 51 kilometres an hour over the posted 80 km/h speed limit in the town yesterday morning, Oct. 10.

According to a RCMP release, the 46-year-old man, who is from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, was issued a speeding ticket, had his driver’s licence suspended for seven days and had his vehicle impounded for three days.
