An investigation is underway into a fire that resulted in heavy damages to a home on Queen Street in Stephenville early Saturday, Aug. 10.
Fire Chief Wayne Reilly of the Stephenville Fire Department said he wasn’t sure how many people were in the home, but he was informed they all got out okay.
He said the fire department received a call around 5 a.m. and responded with about 14 members. They were assisted by about 10 members of the Kippens Fire Department.
They were on scene until the fire was fully extinguished around 9:30 a.m.
Reilly said there was a fair bit of fire, water and smoke damage to the structure. He said flames were coming out of every window on all three levels when firefighters arrived on the scene.
