STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — STEPHENVILLE, N.L. – Friendly Invasion events are underway in Stephenville with the aim of highlighting the different cultures that make up the community.
Activities kicked off Wednesday evening, July 10, with a large parade involving people of diverse backgrounds that make up the community, including the portrayal of characters in the town from the past, and representatives of the Mi’kmaq Indigenous Community to the Bay St. George Filipino – Canadian Community.
The Stephenville Cultural Destinations Committee was pleased with the large turnout for the parade and the number of people on hand for a celebration at Blanche Brook Park following the parade, with music and a barbecue.
Deb Coughlin is hoping for good attendance at the remaining events taking place throughout the summer.
