Grand Falls-Windsor gearing up for Red Maple Festival Oct. 29 to Nov. 5

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. — The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is gearing up for The Red Maple Festival Oct. 29 to Nov. 5.
The week-long festival offers events for residents of all ages including a pre-school and adult skate on Wednesday, Oct 30.
On Thursday, Oct. 31 there will be a Trunk or Treat at the College of the North Atlantic parking lot, starting at 5 p.m. Groups wishing to participate can  contact Loriann Leyte-Peddle at [email protected].
On Friday evening, Nov. 1 there will be a Halloween Flashlight Hunt at the Church Road Par, 5-7:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. Tots and peanut free options available. In the event of rain, the event will be held at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium Multipurpose Room.
Other events include; The Red Maple Festival Fine Arts and Crafts Fair, Exploits Nordic Ski Club, Walk/Ride the Trails, Moonlight Scary Halloween Movie, a pumpkin party and a community bonfire.

Sunday, Nov. 3
•    Sharing Culture Over Food: Noon to 2 p.m. at the Y2C Centre (Bond Street). Featuring a variety of
cuisine from around the world, including desserts.  This event will also include some multicultural displays and exhibits. $5/plate (at the door), all proceeds will go to the Y2C Centre. All ages welcome

•    Milk and Bookies @ Adventureland: 3:30pm. Come celebrate diversity with Grand Falls-Windsor PRIDE as Guest Reader, Kim McDonald-Wilkes takes you on a literary journey. You'll get a healthy family snack as well as book to take home and a free play at Adventureland! Pre-registration is mandatory

Monday, Nov. 4
•    Pumpkin Party at 6 p.m.
Bring your carved pumpkin to Gorge Park and help us to light up the walkway with a Jack O'Lantern display. A light source will be provided for pumpkins and costumes are encouraged. This is
an Earth friendly event. Pumpkins will be collected and composted. Bring a reusable mug for your FREE hot chocolate.

Tuesday, Nov. 5
•    Community Bonfire at Red Cliff Rocks Campground: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is Free. Popcorn, hot chocolate
and a fireworks display!
