The St. John’s Regional fire department were called to a house fire on Pennywell Road Saturday and arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from the home.
They quickly laid attack lines and had the fire knocked down fairly quickly but not before the house suffered substantial damage.
The fire has not been confirmed as suspicious but an official told the Telegram that there were fires burning in different locations inside the structure.
There was no one in the vacant home at the time and there were no injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
