STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — A 43-year-old driver from St. George’s has been charged with impaired driving.
A prepared release from the Bay St. George RCMP said it was about 2 a.m. today that a RCMP officer observed a vehicle drive through a red light on Massachusetts Drive in Stephenville.
Members conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for impaired driving after he provided breath samples that were allegedly more than twice the legal limit.
The man’s licence was suspended and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
He was released from custody and will appear in court later.
