MOUNT PEARL, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested and charged a man following a pair of armed robberies in Mount Pearl on Wednesday.
Police were called to an armed robbery at Maries Mini Mart on Dunns Road in Mount Pearl around 1:30 where the lone male suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
About 30 minutes later, police were alerted to an armed robbery at the nearby Royal Bank on Commonwealth Avenue.
Once again, the suspect fled in a vehicle, but this time RNC officers located the suspect vehicle and made the arrest.
The 51-year-old was held for a court appearance this morning where he'll face two charges of armed robbery, as well as assault with a weapon, uttering threats and breaching court orders.
